Early on in the school year, the student Activities Committee plans a party designed to help students get to know the new students on campus, both high school and college.

Each Fall, a local farmer offers his hay wagons and tractors to conduct an old-fashioned hay ride. Members of Messiah congregation provide bars, cookies and other snacks while the host and his wife provide hot chocolate and a blazing campfire.

Fall Party

During the Fall, the Activities Committee organizes some type of party like from a costume party, a Pumpkin Olympics or a haunted house or trail.

Christmas Party

A devotion including the reading of the Christmas story by the class presidents is part of the annual Christmas party organized by the Activities Committee. A bonfire and games are also part of the fun.

Christmas Concert

The first semester of the school year concludes as the students present a concert of sacred music. This is preceded by presentations of other music organizations such as the Strings, Concert Band, Jazz Band and Flute Choir.

Formal Dinner

Late February finds the students dressing up for a meal and entertainment provided by the faculty. It's in this connection that the Emerald Knight and Crystal Princess are chosen by voting of the student body.

Battle of the Bands

From flute and guitar instrumentals to acoustic duets to full band jamming, the students seem to really enjoy this evening of entertainment which is often held the evening of the Formal Dinner.

Mini Classes

The mid-winter blahs are off-set by Mini-Class Week, a chance for the students to learn things not normally taught in the classroom. Volunteers from around the CLC come to Immanuel to demonstrate their hobbies or interests and give students a chance to try their hand and activities as diverse as CAD and Java Programming to auto mechanics, wood-burning, soldering, crocheting, skin care and pie-making.

Piano and Organ Recital

The students who take piano and organ lessons at Immanuel present some of their work at two recitals a school year, usually held near the end of each semester. These recitals often follow a theme and are open to parents, friends and the public.

Banquet

The Junior class spends hours preparing a Banquet in honor of the graduating classes at Immanuel. Invitations, decorations, speakers and entertainment all follow a theme for the year. All students may attend the Banquet which is usually held at a local hall in early May.

Field Day

Bragging rights are at stake each year on the Monday of Final Test week as the classes compete for supremacy in traditional track and field events as well as some not-so-normal activities including hacky-sack, endurance course, egg toss and the Tea House Lawn games. Ultimate victory is often decided by the final event, tug-of-war, the winner of which calls itself the unofficial champion of the day, all points aside.

Senior Tea

The graduates and the faculty and their wives gather shortly before graduation for the annual Senior Tea held in Ingram Hall and the Library. The wives prepare daintly appetizer-type food, punch, tea and desserts which are enjoyed by all as plans for the future are discussed.

Class Day

The afternoon of the last day of the year finds everyone gathering in the gym for some entertainment and the presentation of awards and scholarships. Our Lord has truly blessed our campus with talented students and we draw attention to those gifts on this day.

Spring Concert

The second semester of the school year concludes with an evening of musical enjoyment as the various student organizations present some of the fruits of their labors. The mass choir and tour choir end the evening with singing and other forms of music all pointing to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Graduation

Graduation marks the end of the school year as our students prepare venture out into the work force, into further education or begin a call in the public ministry. It's a bittersweet day as we recognize and appreciate the blessings our Lord has showered upon us throughout the year and how we will miss the closeness that has developed through the year.
