The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. – Psalm 103:8-10

Track & Field Report:

We got another beautiful day for our second meet at Cochrane-Fountain City on Thursday. This was a smaller meet with only 5 teams, which meant no limit on the number of athletes we could enter in each event. Our students rose to the challenge: EVERY member of our team managed to beat their marks from Tuesday’s meet in at least one event, and 16 out of our 17 athletes set new personal bests!

Our highest scorers included: First place finishes by Riley Naumann (100 hurdles), Audrey Arndt (100M), Caleb Arndt (long jump), and Cainnin Lone (100 hurdles). Second place went to Audrey (200M, 100 hurdles, & long jump), Micah Fossum (1600M & 3200M), and our boys’ 4×100 relay team (Jesse Cornish, Micah, Paul Frank, & Caleb). Third place finishers were Sophia Carstensen (high jump & long jump), Riley (200M), Laura Schaller (1600M), Caleb (200M), Jesse (triple jump), and Levi Falkenberg (discus).

Complete results are posted at https://www.advantagetiming.com/ under “Cochrane-Fountain City High School Meet.” Our next meet is at Mondovi on Tuesday.

Varsity Softball 9, Melrose-Mindoro 0: Hannah Kazemba pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 10 for the Lancers. She added four hits at the plate, including a triple and a home run. Faith Kazemba and Claire Schierenbeck added three RBIs each for Immanuel Lutheran. – Leader-Telegram 4/22/22
Varsity Baseball 8, Melrose-Mindoro 1: Jonah Mueller turned in a sterling performance on the mound, striking out 10 across five innings. Bryce Sydow paced the Lancers offense with two hits and two RBIs. – Leader-Telegram 4/22/22
