Weekend Schedule: Friday is Visitor’s Day! Please be welcoming and helpful to our guests.

4:30pm – Varsity Baseball hosts their game on campus; Varsity Softball hosts their game at Carson Park – Hobbs field.

7:00pm – The band concert begins in the gym. Please hold conversations in the Commons rather than the gym during the concert out of respect for the musicians who worked hard to prepare their pieces and the guests who want to enjoy the music.

7:30pm – The curtain goes up on the first performance of The Westing Game.

Saturday, 7:00pm – Our Student Performances begin in the gym, followed by the second performance of The Westing Game at 7:30pm.

*Please remember to park in designated spaces only, and not in the fire lane at the top of the hill behind the gym.*

Banquet Tickets: Remember to pay for your banquet ticket (as well as your date’s?!?) by next Wednesday. The cost is $15 and can be paid to Julia, Bryce, Ben, Vance, or the office.

Photo Competition Reminder: This semester we are looking for a “puzzle-worthy” photo that best depicts the Immanuel Family. This is pretty wide open but it must have people having fun doing something on campus (sporting events, activities, classes (yes classes can be fun), meals, etc.). Once again we will be awarding jigsaw puzzles to the top three choices as well as the enlarged canvas reprint for our wall. Start sending your unedited photos to ross.roehl@ilc.edu. The deadline for this round is this coming Monday, May 1!

TRACK & FIELD REPORT: It was nice to be back out on the track for today’s 4-team meet at Mondovi after missing both our meets last week due to bad weather. Since there were fewer teams, we were allowed to enter as many as we wanted in each event, so it was a good opportunity for some of our athletes to try some new things.

First place finishers today were Audrey Arndt (100M – PR) and Micah Fossum (3200M – PR), along with our boys 4×200 team of Caleb Arndt, Andy Plath, Titus Radichel, and Vance Havemeier. Vance showed some amazing agility when he had to hurdle another team’s runner that wiped out right in front of him – and still won the race. Audrey also gathered two second place finishes (200M & long jump), along with Sophia Carstensen (high jump), and Micah (1600M). Grace LeDuc (400M – PR & 800M) and Andy Plath (long jump & high jump – PR) each netted a pair of 3rd place finishes, along with Audrey in the 100 hurdles.

Special mention goes out to Paul Frank for setting a new school record (and PR) in the 100M; also to Tyler Gallaher (100M, 200M, & long jump) and Sam Pfeiffer (100M & 800M) for making it a clean sweep by setting new PRs in all of their events! Other individuals who also set new PRs today were Sophia (100 hurdles), Evalin Hammett (long jump), Lydia Lau (discus), Becky Noeldner (400M & 800M), Paul (discus), Carter Martin (discus), Andy Plath (high jump), & Titus Radichel (200M). When you add up the PRs and new events, our athletes beat their best marks in 28 out of the 51 events they competed in!
