School News 4/9/25

But that is not the way it is to be among you. Instead, whoever wants to be great among you will be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. – Mark 10:43-45

Report on “Early Bird” Meet @ Eleva-Strum

God gave us nice seasonable weather for our first meet in Eleva-Strum – against 10 teams, our girls finished 5th and our boys 4th. Top finishers were Audrey Arndt (1st place 100M & 200M, 2nd in long jump),Grace Leduc (3rd in 400M & 800M), Maggie Seibel (3rd in 1600M), Jesse Cornish (1st in 100M & triple jump), Tyler Gallaher (2nd in 200M), Tanner Havemeier (2nd in triple jump), Michael Lang (3rd in 400M), and Logan Thompson (3rd in 3200M).

Both our boys relay teams placed well: the 4×800 team finished 2nd (William Sydow, Josh Pfeiffer, Dulton Eberhardt, & Logan) and the 4×100 team finished third with a new school record (Tyler, Tanner, Ian Levandoski, & Jesse).

New personal records (PRs) were set by Alex & Becky Noeldner (100 hurdles), Thomas Carstensen (400M & high jump), Jesse Cornish (triple jump – also a new school record), Alek Daub (shot put), Tyler Gallaher (200M), Tanner Havemeier (triple jump), and William Sydow (800M). Complete results are available online at https://crm.pttiming.com/uploads/projects/2323/2660f921ae311a0b782c539eb71c1794.htm.

Robotics had another successful competition last weekend. After the Qualification rounds we were ranked 21st out of 47 teams. The team and robot performed well. We had one major repair after our first match, but the team rose to the challenge and we were able to repair it in time for our next match. Because of how the robot performed we had several of the top ranked teams looking to select us to join them for the finals. We ended up being selected by Alliance 7 for the final double elimination tournament. Unfortunately we lost our first 2 matches in the tournament. We are excited to see what the future brings for the team in the years to come!
