In baseball action at Bloomer, in a non-conference matchup, the Lancers prevailed in six innings 14-3. Cam Nelson went the distance on the mound scattering 8 hits and allowing only one walk. The Lancer defense committed no errors. With the help of several walks and timely hitting, the Lancers scored 9 runs in the 4th inning to widen their slim lead. Sawyer Sydow and Kayden Lillo each had 2 RBI singles in that frame. The Lancers are finally scheduled to play a home game at Carson Park on Monday. Their record now stands at 7-0.

In softball yesterday, the Lancers easily dispatched Alma/Pepin 13-5. We had 11 hits in the game with a home run by Kenzie Koenig and triples by Gabi Rafichel and Reagan Oman. Gabi and Anna Eichstadt had three hits each. The Lancers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 12 stolen bases for the game. Rachel Kazemba surrendered five hits and five runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking one. Next up is a triangular at Elk Mound on Saturday with Elk Mound and Shell Lake.

Track Report – It was a chilly (but dry!) night for a track meet in Boyceville. Facing a huge field of 11 teams, our boys team finished 5th and our girls 6th. Winning their events were William Sydow (1600M) and our boys 4×100 relay (Reis Levandoski, Tanner Havemeier, Ian Levandoski, & Michael Lang). Taking second were Gwyneth Gurgel (400M) and Grace LeDuc (800M), while our third place finishers were Tanner Havemeier (100M & triple jump) and Michael Lang (high jump). Setting new personal records (PRs) today were Hannah Ackerman (discus & shot put), Ashtyn Barthels (shot put), Gwyneth (200M & 400M), Alex Noeldner (300 hurdles), Margaret Schaller (300 hurdles & long jump), Jenna Ude (shot put), Ayden Anderson (100M), Thomas Carstensen (triple jump), Josh Noeldner (200M & 400M), Sam Pfeiffer (800M), and Levi Willitz (200M). Our distance runners were the PR champs today, with every single one beating their previous best in both the 1 and 2 mile races: Aurora Willitz (1600M), Joel Pfeiffer (1600M & 3200M), Josh Pfeiffer (1600M & 3200M), William Sydow (800M & 1600M).
Next up we travel to Gilman on Tuesday, May 5.
