Flag Football today at Stein fields: Cyclones v. Cowboys at 3:15pm, followed by Cougars v. Buffaloes at 4:15pm. Van leaves from behind the Commons at 3:00pm. The forecast is for sunny and 68 degrees; another lovely day for fans to walk over and cheer for the teams!

Breakfast for athletes tomorrow: CC runners, V and JV volleyball players are invited to come eat breakfast Saturday morning at 7:30am before leaving for your events. Regular brunch will still be provided for everyone else.

Saturday’s Varsity Volleyball Tournament The Lancers are taking part in the Memorial Invitational beginning at 9:00am. Tickets are only available online! CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED at the door. https://gofan.co/app/school/WI18320 Immanuel plays at 9:00, 10:00, 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 (assuming they’ve been winning). Please use lot 1 for drop-off and spectator parking (off Fairfax St. between the athletic fields). Enter through door 14. The other lots are available, but they are not connected.

Leave it Better meets at 1:00pm on Sunday to build a firewood shed near the Commons.

Communion Weekend: You have the opportunity to receive communion this weekend at Messiah. If you take communion, please record that by marking off your name on the sheet for non-Messiah CLC students on the table in the narthex. (It will be there alongside the sheets for Messiah members.) If the wrong congregation is listed or your name is missing, feel free to make the correction on the sheet, or let Mrs. Schaller know.

Are you 18 or older and want to vote in the presidential election? In order to vote in Eau Claire, you must be a resident of the city of Eau Claire with a valid Wisconsin ID (driver’s license, passport or ID card). Be sure to mail for an absentee ballot from your hometown if you are not a resident. You will need time to get it mailed to you and mail it back before November 5! Fun Volunteer Opportunity: Messiah’s Youth Group is hosting its first ever Trunk or Treat and we need your help! We are looking for many high school students to help us run games, serve snacks, and help with set up and clean up. The games will be simple to run and we will have instructions for you. Please sign up on the sign up sheet near the office if you can help. If you need a ride to the event we can provide transportation.

If you are also interested in decorating a trunk for the event you are more than welcome to sign up for that. We are so excited for this event and it will be a great success with your help!

CC Report: Our cross-country team took advantage of a flat, fast course in Osseo – almost every runner (17 out of 18) ran their fastest times of the season! 4 of our runners earned medals: Logan Thompson (8th), Dulton Eberhardt (12th), Simeon Schaller (14th), and Lydia Kloke (14th). Special shout out to Thomas Carstensen, Seth Bernthal, and Maggie Seibel who beat their previous best by a minute, and Alek Daub who beat his personal record by over two full minutes!
