Nestled in the quiet beauty of the tall green pines;
God has set our Alma Mater, guiding hearts and minds.
Built on Jesus' words of promise, Oh Lord bless her well.
Thus may e'er our Alma Mater be Immanuel.
Experience Immanuel's Campus
The campus of Immanuel Lutheran High School, College, and Seminary is located on the south side of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, not far from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and just north of I-94. This helps facilitate travel to the Twin Cities, which are just over an hour's drive away to the west.
As Immanuel's Alma Mater states, we are "Nestled in the quiet beauty of the tall, green pines." Indeed, our approximately 80 acre campus overlooking scenic Lowes Creek Valley is situated in a serene setting amid verdant lawns, towering pine trees, and rolling terrain. Furthermore, many of the buildings of our intimate setting reflect the original architecture of the stately historic Ingram mansion.
Experience Immanuel's Purpose
Though the outward beauty of the campus is truly wonderful, the true beauty is what happens spiritually here. God has placed Immanuel as a beacon for young Christians, providing them with an outstanding education and guiding them with the light found in the truth of His Word. This light helps students discover the manifold grace of God found in the world He created and in the salvation their Savior, Jesus Christ, has secured for them.
Immanuel is the synodical institution of the Church of the Lutheran Confession (CLC). That's why many of our students come from CLC congregations located all over the United States and Canada. While our local students from Eau Claire usually live at their own homes, the ones from a distance are provided with on-campus living in the dormitories.
Experience Immanuel's Departments
Immanuel consists of three departments: the high school, college, and seminary. Immanuel Lutheran High School makes up most of our enrollment, normally about 110-120 students, where young people can transition into adulthood by being a part of the Immanuel experience. Beyond this, Immanuel Lutheran College offers four-year degrees in education and theology, as well as a two-year Associate of Arts degree. Finally, Immanuel Lutheran Seminary prepares young men to serve as well-prepared candidates for the preaching ministry in our CLC congregations and in various domestic and world missions.
Experience Immanuel's Foundation
Jesus Christ and His Word are at the foundation of all we do here at Immanuel. Since every word of the Holy Bible has come from the Triune God, we at Immanuel are committed to the proclamation of all its teachings. What we teach conforms to the Lutheran Confessions found in the Book of Concord. Academic excellence is paramount, of course, and Immanuel students consistently outperform their peers in national standardized tests. But God's Word comes first. At morning and evening chapel services, in the classroom or in the dormitories or in every extracurricular activity, the chief goal of every teacher, administrator, and athletic coach is to direct young people to their Savior, Jesus Christ.
Experience Immanuel's Atmosphere
When God created this earth, He created it with an atmosphere that could sustain life as we know it. As life cannot be sustained on planets without the proper atmosphere, spiritual life cannot be sustained without the Word of God. The Holy Spirit is at work as students, faculty, and staff live and breathe the Word of God. As such, this impacts the relationships that are established here. The Word creates wonderful bonds with life-long Christian friends who similarly treasure Jesus and His Word. The Word leads caring faculty and staff members who counsel and support students by extending a hand and heart of Christian love and guidance. The Word leads students with their own sinful struggles to see each other as fellow sinners who Jesus died for, reflecting His love and forgiveness to others. No school is perfect with perfect people, including Immanuel. But as students, faculty, and staff live and breathe the Word, a wonderful atmosphere is created for Christian life to prosper.
Experience Immanuel's Outcome
Immanuel ultimately exists for the purpose of sharing the good news that the Son of God has come as the perfect and complete sacrifice for the sins of every man, woman, and child … past, present, and future. We carry out this purpose by giving young men and women a Christ-centered, Biblical education. Upon completing their education at Immanuel, these young Christians go out into the world and share what they have learned. Those who become lay-members of CLC congregations share the Gospel with family, friends, and co-workers. Those who become teachers in the Christian Day Schools of the CLC share the Gospel with the children who enroll in their schools. Those who become pastors share the Gospel with the members of their congregations, with the unchurched in their communities, and with the heathen wherever they may be found.
